Pretty good, especially for the price August 31, 2010 JUL This would be my first flat screen. I had to get an HDMI cable for a real good picture but after that it came in pretty nice.
Light weight, space saver, good picture. I haven't tried to hook up anything else but so far so good. I had it for a month so far.
Weak speakers, great picture, more connectors than advertised August 25, 2010 math2007 I've only had the TV for one day, so I don't know about long-term reliability. The picture quality is very high. No noticeable glare. The speakers, even at max volume are frequently not loud enough. Some adjustment on volumes of different frequency ranges helps with, but does not solve, the volume issue (bass seems to outweigh treble as the default setting). The sound on the 10 year old TV it replaced was actually better, which is a little sad.
The specs for connectors above list only two HDMI connectors, but I was pleasantly surprised that it has component video, standard audio, coax and VGA as well. No standard video RCA video port, which is sort of annoying, but it hooked up to my xbox and comcast cable box fine. It did not detect the correct aspect ratio for component video and that needed to be manually changed from 16:9 to 4:3 on the cable box.
Overall, it seems like a decent but not great TV, but it is worth the money.
Great TV and it has an alarm clock too! August 24, 2010 Barbara Stout (Dardenne Prairie, MO) We bought this for our bedroom when our 20 year old 27" RCA shot craps. The old RCA had an alarm mode on it and I had really grown used to using it to wake up in the morning. I had pretty much resigned myself that I was going to have to get used to the alarm clock again. Imagine my surprise when I found in the Time setting that there was an "Auto ON" selection. Actually there are 3 separate auto on settings.
We chose the Samsung because of the great ratings and reviews it has received and the alarm mode is just a bonus. The picture is great, it was easy to set up, and the sound is ok.... thus the 4 stars. but it's like that with every LCD TV I've ever looked at. We normally hook ours up to the stereo anyway. I do have to buy a new cable for that as this TV requires a different cable than what I already have. So if you have an older stereo that you plan to hook this up to be on notice to buy a new cable. The audio out is just one output instead of 2 or 3. Your old cable will not work. I would definitely buy this again. Next will be a 46" with the Apps. when the prices drop under $1000.
Awesome TV! August 22, 2010 F. Chiarella This TV is a great product for the price! The picture and sound are both quality, and I haven't had any problems with it! My only complaint about this product is the TV stand it comes with. If you don't plan on mounting the TV, you may be disappointed with the stand it comes with. Very poor quality.
Overall though, I would highly recommend this product!
Good value for the money August 17, 2010 J. Handa (Chicago) Performs as expected. Great value for the money. My only complaint is the sound -- specifically, the volume. I have to have the volume turned almost all the way up in order to hear it clearly. This is my first LCD TV (finally got rid of the big box!), but I've heard from friends this is a common complaint so I'm not really docking my overall rating. Still, it's disappointing.
